Head's Welcome
I am delighted to report that the school is at an exciting time with our recent Ofsted Report confirming the progress we have made in the last 18 months. It states that "Castle is a good school" and that "the lessons observed were all at least good with some outstanding." Further details are contained in the Spring 2011 newsletter on the website. This demonstrates that all the hard work both staff and students have put in over the last 18 months is making a difference. We still have much to do to reach our aim of outstanding.
To this end we continue to strive to provide the highest standard of innovative teaching and learning and enhanced opportunities for all our students to ensure they achieve their potential. We are determined to become a centre of excellence and are seeking to recruit and develop teachers of the highest calibre who are able to inspire our students to enjoy learning, to achieve high standards and to aspire to become lifelong learners. Our team of staff are committed professionals who are well respected and valued. The school has put a large amount of investment, over the past two years, into providing training opportunities for all staff to give them the support to develop fully in their chosen role and beyond. The same principle is also in place to ensure all of our students achieve their best.
We are again expecting our best ever examination results this coming summer and we are continuing to drive the school forward growing from strength to strength. Extensive changes have taken place to some areas around the school and ever wider opportunities have been created for our students as they work through their years at Castle High School. As the Headteacher I am personally very proud, privileged and excited to be driving these developments. It will support our shared vision for rapid success and will create experiences for all within and beyond the local community.
